Mechos

In scientific usage, Mechos are the mechanical sciences of Eona. This covers fields such as physics, robotics, computation, chemistry, and astronomy. Not much distinction is made between these fields, as they're all seen as applications of the same core idea. It's not known what that core is, but the current consensus is that there's some uniting thread between all Mechos sciences[1].

A scientist in the field of Mechos is typically called a Mechomer.

In common usage, Mechos almost exclusively refers to robotics and machinery. This narrowed definition frustrates many scientists that don't work on robotics, as it ignores the diversity of Mechos sciences. Other common uses of "Mechos" include:

Mechos has taken precedence over Bios after the Disaster's fallout created fear around Bios technologies. Most new developments are purely Mechos.

[1]: No, it's not just mathematics (though there are a few scientists that would argue this). Think of it like the belief that quantum physics and relativity must have the same underlying principles connecting them.
