Bios

Bios are the biological and social sciences of Eona. Medicine, ecology, psychology, palaentology, and other biological sciences all fall under the umbrella of Bios. Like Mechos, not much distinction is drawn between different fields, and it's believed that a common thread unites them all. Unlike Mechos, the current consensus is that this common thread is genetics, though there's considerable argument as to whether the social sciences are adequately described by genetics^[1].

A scientist in the field of Bios is typically called a Biomer.

Outside of scientific usage, Bios refers to genetic modification and engineered organisms. Other common uses of "Bios" include:

• Extreme forms of body modification are referred to as Bios (including a few modifications that are more accurately Mechos or Biomechos).
• Bios-based computers and engineered organisms are often referred to as Bios.
